I just drove by the Apple store in San Francisco. There were at lest 50 people with lawn chairs, camping out (i assume) to buy an iPhone when they go on sale tomorrow morning.
The good news is that the Apple store is in the "tenderloin" district, a part of town best known for its homelessness and crackhead problem -- so if one of those Apple geeks needs to take a late-night dump on the sidewalk, no one will look twice.
About 3 weeks ago, Facebook launched an interface enabling developers to write "Facebook apps," which are entire programs that live within Facebook. Imagine a widget (like you see on MySpace pages) that has access to your name and user ID, can send data to any database, and can add other elements to your profile.
I decided to check it out and wrote my first app over the weekend. It's called "My Links" and it simply lets you add links on your Facebook profile to your profiles on other sites (like MySpace, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.)
Someone just informed me that my drumming video is the first result when you search YouTube for "omg". Click here to see (results may have changed by the time you click this...who knows)
Not sure how that happened, but it's cool I guess.
I recorded this song in my office, using an electronic drum set, guitars, and some free recording software. My singing makes Kylie Minogue seem even creepier.
